CHILDLINE is a national, 24x7, free, emergency, phone outreach
service for children in need of care and protection,
linking them to long term rehabilitation. Any child/concerned adult can call 1098 to access the CHILDLINE service any time
of the day or night. Our
ambitious endeavour to reach out to every child in need of care and protection
begins with small undertakings, adding up to a series of well devised projects
and plans across the country.
In a bid to allow
every child access to an emergency helpline service, CHILDLINE continues to
expand exponentially, each day. CHILDLINE 1098 initiates dialogue with children
in need of care and protection and acts as a tool for change in the Child
Protection arena.
CIF not only plays the role of listening to the voice of
the child, but also plays the role of strengthening, molding and filling in the
gaps of existing national child protection mechanisms.
A humble beginning in 1996, CHILDLINE has now grown
into a national child protection service. Today, CHILDLINE operates in over 300
